Dear Longwall Mining Operator,

This October head to the Hunter Valley where THE event for Australia's Longwall operators will be taking place on the 25th and 26th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

For its 9th successful installment Longwall 2010 will address meeting the huge demand for coal through improved performance and best practice operations.

This year's speaking line-up features industry experts from operators including:

  • Anglo American Metallurgical Coal
  • Vale
  • Centennial Coal
  • Whitehaven Coal
  • NuCoal Resources

  • Wallarah 2 Coal Project
  • BHP Billiton
  • Caledon Resources
  • Rio Tinto

Complementing the conference agenda again this year is the grand Longwall Exhibition and the popular social program. Whether it's the Golf Day, the Longwall Dinner or the always popular BBQ Breakfast there are many opportunities to come together and interact with others in your industry.

Longwall 2010 will focus on the growth picture, technology and people in the industry. Data on the productivity changes of longwall mines over the years will be presented as will:

  • Outlook for thermal and metallurgical coal
  • Getting the most out of your current operations
  • Continuous haulage systems
  • Automation developments
  • Unleashing the potential of coal mine gas and coal seam gas in the Illawarra
  • Groundwater management for longwall coal mining

In addition this year's workshop 'Roadway Development' will reference roadway development at Longwall mines in QLD and NSW. It is not to be missed as it's of interest for those seeking to maximise productivity, safety, commitment and accountability of mine workers.

I look forward to meeting you at Longwall 2010 in October!
